The Do’s and Dont’s of Fishing at Kasba Lake

From personal experience and guide input over 20 years, here are the Do’s and Dont’s of Fishing at Kasba Lake fishing lodge.
DO – Do trust in your fishing guide. Our fishing guides together share on average over 12 years of guiding experience on Kasba alone! While some fishing guides at other fishing lodges may like to keep their fishing spots secret, our group of closely-knit guides enjoy passing on their knowledge and sharing their secrets. This staff culture has helped to ensure our guests are put on the best fishing spots on the lake at all times
DON’T – Don’t trust the weather reports! While the temperature’s and forecast available on our website can provide a general idea of what to expect, it is by no means completely (or sometimes even the tiniest bit) accurate. Summers in the North can be 86 degrees one day and 42 the next. Bring layers of clothing that will make it easy for you to adjust to changing temperatures.
DO – Do ensure you bring a belt with some spare notches. We here at Kasba strongly believe that great fishing and great food run hand-in-hand. We promise to keep you well fed, both on and off the lake. After all, reelin’ in fish all day can require a lot of extra energy!
DON’T – Don’t forget your camera! Kasba fishing lodge affords you astounding views and moments on a daily basis that you would hate to forget. A fishin’ story just simply isn’t as good without the picture of your monster fish at the end!
DO – Do let us know of any special arrangements you might like for your fishing trip prior to your arrival at the lodge. We work hard to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable, and a little heads-up can go a long way in helping us ensure you have the fishing trip of a lifetime.
DON’T – Don’t forget to bring a pair of polarized sunglasses! Whether they cost $30 or $300 a simple pair of polarized lenses can truly enhance your fishing experience at Kasba. Allowing you to see further into the water this simple piece of equipment will instantly make you a better fisherman (or fisherwoman), allowing you in many instances to see the fish you are casting for, and place that secret lure of yours right in front of their noses.
DO – Do read my blog posts and stay updated on Facebook before coming up as they may prove useful in preparing yourself for what to expect before coming on your fishing trip of a lifetime! You can find them on www.kasba.com.
DON’T – Don’t forget your rain gear! There is nothing worse than heading out for a day of fishing on a morning full of blue sky and leaving your rain gear back at your cabin, only to return to camp at the end of the day thoroughly soaked from an unsuspecting raincloud which formed during shore lunch!
DO – Do expect a fishing trip full of action, relaxation, laughs, learning, and most of all, great fishing!
