Kasba Lake Lodge 2020 Fishing Season Update
Hello Everyone,
Thanks again for your patience while you wait to hear from us regarding the 2020 Kasba season.
While official agreements have not been made between Canada and the USA on border restrictions, our Prime Minister as well as all provincial leaders have come out and said the border closure will be extended until at least June 20th. Beyond that, the NWT government has announced publicly that they will not allow tourists into the territory until a vaccine is made publicly available, and Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan have extended their travel bans as well.
For us at Kasba, that unfortunately puts the nail in the coffin for our 2020 season. Starting this week Amanda will begin sending out new trip confirmations showing confirmed dates for summer of 2021. As promised, we are guaranteeing that all agreed upon rates will stay the same, as will the trip dates. If your new 2021 trip dates do not work with you or your schedule please give us a call and we will do our best to find another available spot in our season to accommodate you.
We are truly sorry and appreciate your understanding. This is new ground for us. Never in 44 years of operation have we been forced to close. We feel for all our loyal staff who each season pour their hearts into Kasba. That being said we are resilient. We will make it through. We have plans in place now to bring our winter caretaker Scott out for the summer, and he is happily putting his hat back in the ring for the best self-quarantine job available in the country for this coming winter. We also have plans to make our way to the lodge this summer for some routine maintenance and more permanent upgrades. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Kasba Lake Lodge in 2021 for what will undoubtedly be an epic fishing year. Twenty two months with absolutely zero fishing on Kasba Lake, man are these fish going to be hungry!
Thanks again everyone – we will miss you this year, but the countdown to Kasba 2021 has now officially begun.
